This is a blog for all who love organ improvisation, all who know how to improvise, and all who want to learn to improvise. All are invited to share their thoughts about improvisation. Links to cool improvisations (Youtube, etc.) are really welcome as well!

This is a really, really interesting video. It's an interview with Pierre Cochereau... and yes, it's in French (but if you're going to improvise you'd better learn French! lol)... Anyway, there's a lot of interesting material here. Enjoy. http://www.ina.fr/art-et-culture/musique/video/CPF08008756/point-d-orgue.fr.html

Hi all,
Here's a question for you: when things are going really, really well in your improvisation, why exactly is that happening for you? I continue to wrestle with the unpredictable nature of inspiration! What are your observations?

Posting links...?
Hi Jeff, I just tried posting a link using the "link" button here, but it never seemed to work for me...
Having attended the amazing EROI (Eastman Rochester Organ Initiative) and AGO Organ Pedagogy conference last week, I heard lots of requests for a blog about organ improvisation. Yes. Learning how to improvise ON THE SPOT at the pipe organ. It's not impossible to do and it is a load of fun.
